Vivian’s Hope represents a group of people from the Temecula Valley that have come together to provide funds to support Nightlight Christian Adoptions’ effort in Uganda. Nightlight sponsors an orphanage in Kampala, Uganda, called Heart of a Child. The purpose of the orphanage is to provide medical care, food, clothing, shelter, and love for abandoned and abused babies. Unlike many other orphanages in Africa, one of the main goals of Heart of a Child is to match babies with forever families through legal adoption.
Many of the babies in the orphanage have been rescued from unimaginable circumstances. One such child, Vivian, came to the orphanage in August after being abandoned and neglected by her mother. Severely underweight, at 19 months old, she only weighed 13 lbs. She also had syphilis and anemia. This past February, we learned that she had Malaria, and shortly after, bacterial meningitis. Vivian died in April because her little body did not have the strength to fight the bacteria that invaded her body.
This Christmas, make a meaningful donation which will provide Uganda staff the resources necessary to care for the medical needs of babies in the orphanage.
